Submitting an order through this website constitutes an offer by you to purchase
goods from Shakespeare’s Globe. This offer is subject to acceptance by
Shakespeare’s Globe and will not be considered to represent a binding
contract until we issue a written confirmation of acceptance by e-mail to the
e-mail address that you provide. Shakespeare’s Globe will not by bound
by a contract with you until this confirmation has been issued.
This website is available only for your personal, non-commercial use.
Shakespeare’s Globe cannot accept orders from customers under the age
of eighteen (18) years.
Pricing
All prices quoted on this website are correct at time of issue and are inclusive
of VAT @ 17.5%, unless indicated otherwise. Prices are quoted in UK pounds sterling
and goods are sold under UK law.
We reserve the right to alter prices under circumstances beyond our control.
If by mistake, we have under-priced an item, we will not be liable to supply
that item to you at the stated price, provided we notify you before we dispatch
the item concerned.
Prices available when ordering online may differ from those offered to customers
buying goods in person at Shakespeare’s Globe, or from printed catalogues
produced by Shakespeare’s Globe.
Customers with a valid current membership of the Friends of Shakespeare’s
Globe receive a 10% discount on the cost of the goods ordered. This discount
does not apply to postage and packing rates.
Postage and Packing
Postage is charged on all orders as follows: UK delivery addresses
Orders under £10 - £1.95
Orders of £10 to £35 - £4.95
Orders of £35 and over - £7.95
Delivery addresses in Europe
Orders under £10 - £3.95
Orders of £10 to £35 - £6.95
Orders of £35 and over - £9.95
Delivery addresses to the rest of the world
Orders under £10 - £6.95
Orders of £10 to £35 - £9.95
Orders of £35 and over - £15.95
Where orders are dispatched to overseas addresses, Shakespeare’s Globe
will not be responsible for any additional charges, import duties or taxes levied
once the goods reach the specified destination.
Delivery
We aim to post goods immediately after receipt of your order but as demand
may be high at certain times, please allow seven days for dispatch.
If the goods ordered are unavailable, we will contact you to notify you of
the earliest available delivery date.
Exchanges, Refunds and Cancellations
Goods may be returned within 14 days, unused and unsoiled, for a full refund
or exchange, less postage and packing costs. Please enclose a letter clearly
stating that you wish to return the goods. This does not apply to audio/video
recordings where the seal has been broken, or to personalised goods. This does
not affect your statutory rights.
We advise you to obtain a certificate of posting (free from the post office)
when returning goods as we cannot be held responsible for parcels lost on return
to us.
Security
Our site uses SSL encryption, the most advanced security software currently
available for online transactions. Your credit/debit card and other personal
details are not stored on the site once your order has been processed.
Privacy and Data Protection
The personal data that you supply will be used for the purposes of processing
your order. We will only collect personally identifiable information to the
extent reasonably necessary to serve our legitimate business purposes, and we
will maintain appropriate safeguards to ensure the security, integrity and privacy
of the information you have provided.
Cookies are tiny text files stored on your computer. Shakespeare's Globe uses
cookies to track what you have in your basket and to identify you if you have
asked our site to remember your details. If you shop with us you must have cookies
enabled. Cookies cannot harm your computer and do not contain any personal information.
We may use the personal information that you submit when ordering to inform
you of changes to this website or to send you information about the other activities
of Shakespeare’s Globe. If you do not wish to receive any further information
from Shakespeare’s Globe, you may indicate this by ticking the relevant
box on the Checkout form when placing an order, or at any other time by contacting
us using the details below. We will not share your details with any third parties
without your consent.
Defamation
This website features a number of publications by different authors. Whilst
we use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that publications offered for sale
do not contain inappropriate content, Shakespeare’s Globe will not accept
responsibility for any defamatory content within publications offered for sale
on this website.
Copyright
All contents of this website, including any software, are protected by intellectual
property rights and other related rights. No part of this website may be reproduced
in any form (electronically or otherwise) without the prior consent of Shakespeare’s
Globe.
You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce,
publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer or sell any information
obtained from this website.
